Undergraduate Research Opportunity: Software Modeling of Carbon Nanotubes Prof. Blank is currently recruiting an undergraduate student to assist with modeling of carbon nanotubes. The position is paid and it is preferred that candidates have two or more years of undergradate study remaining. Applicants must be self-motivated and have great interest in modeling and creating research-related software. Highlights of position: - Interact closely with a PhD student leading the project - Meet other undergraduates doing related work - Directly contribute towards publishable research - Work on software that interfaces with state-of-the-art research equipment Technical requirements: - Some skills can be learned on the job but some foundational knowledge is essential - Student must be familiar with multiple programming languages (the bulk of the existing work has been done in C, C++, C#, Python, Matlab, and Blender but there is flexibility with future work) - Experience with OpenGL is beneficial but not strictly required - Some background in physics, chemistry, or material science is higly desirable - Strong mathematical background: trigonometry & geometry, linear algebra, calculus, numerical methods If you are interested in joining this project and meet the above listed requirements, please contact Blank (List the following as Blank, blank).
